The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to Kick Off Hispanic Heritage Month with the Highly Anticipated State of Hispanics Program at Cosumnes River College
Sacramento, CA – Hispanics continue to play a transformative role in the growing Greater Sacramento region. The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SACHCC) is proud to present its annual State of Hispanics event, providing an overview of the current state of the Hispanic community and highlighting their significant impact on the region’s economic and political landscape.
This year’s event will feature:
- A Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) Panel exploring the role HSIs play in driving regional economic growth.
- A Voices in Leadership Panel with Hispanic elected officials discussing the economic advancements and opportunities in the communities they serve.
- A compelling Fireside Chat with a leading political strategist offering insights into the transformative power of the Hispanic community.
“At this year’s State of Hispanics, we are excited to have conversations about Hispanic Serving Institutions and how this designation elevates services for students and universities and also creates a stronger and more innovative workforce that fuels our economy.” says Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, President & CEO. Our program includes local elected officials from across our region to share the importance of leadership and representation, and the economic development projects that are bringing great opportunities for our businesses and workforce. As it is also a key election year, we are thrilled to have Mike Madrid, a political strategist, and Marcos Breton dive into the power the Latino community holds if we actively take a role in transforming policy and politics. My Voice. Mi Gente. Our Future. is the theme for the 2024 State of Hispanics, and we hope that after this program, that our attendees leave empowered to use their voice to advocate for our community to ensure a future that is prosperous for all.”
The next Regional Hispanic Economic Report is slated for release in 2025, following the inaugural 2021 report, produced in partnership with Sacramento State and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG). The 2023 report is available for download in both English and Spanish at www.sachcc.org/report.
